After a successful carreer at MGM, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera open their own studio and sigle-handedly invent the TV cartoon show format. Though their many years, Hanna and Barbera collected more than 1000 cartoon characters, including the Flintstones, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, Scoobi-Doo, and The Smurfs, Hanna-Barbera Productions remained the driving force in Saturday Morning television into the 90's.
